Berthold Seitz is Chairman and Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at Saarland University Medical Center (UKS) in Germany since 2006. He has specialized in the field of corneal diseases, their diagnosis and appropriate therapy. His work and scientific contributions in the field of corneal transplantation include methods to minimize postoperative risks and astigmatism and focuses on the use of femto- and excimer lasers in ophthalmology creating new standards especially in corneal microsurgery.
Prof. Seitz is founder and head of the Cornea Section in the German Ophthalmological Society since September 2006 and was President of the DOG (German Ophthalmological Society) from 2012 until 2013. Since 2011, he is a member of the prestigious German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina (ML) and has recently also been accepted into the international, university-centered organization Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis (AOI).
Furthermore, Prof. Seitz is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International IC3D Commission of Cornea Specialists on the Reclassification of Corneal Dystrophies Considering Genetic Aspects and Director of the IOFF-Subspecialty Fellowships and board member of the Ophthalmology Foundation.

Assoc. Dr. Efekan Coşkunseven has been practicing in the field of ophthalmology at Dünya Eye Hospital for over 28 years. He is still working as the Director of the Department of Refractive Surgery in Zincirlikuyu Medicana Hospital.
He continues his academic duty as Assoc. Professor at Rumeli University. He specializes in Cataract & Refractive Surgery and especially Keratoconus Disease.
He is the 2nd licensed doctor who received Intra Corneal Ring Segments (ICRS) implantation training from Turkey. Dr. Coskunseven, who was the first Intralase user in Turkey, performed the first Intralase Femtosecond Laser Ring insertion operation in the country in 2004. The first corneal cross-linking (CCL) operation in Turkey was also performed by Dr. Coskunseven in 2004. In the same year, he founded the first Keratoconus Center in Turkey. In 2009, he has begun TopoLaser treatments after CCL. He received an award for its triple therapy combination study of keratoconus, CCL, and TopoLaser in the 2010 American Congress of Refractive Surgery. His studies and applications about ICRS, CCL, TopoLaser, Keratoconus, and Phakic intraocular lens combinations have been accepted in several international congresses and academic journals. He has a patent for an intracorneal ring segment in keratoconus. He is an educator in intracorneal ring applications and phakic intraocular contact lenses. Dr.MiltosBalidis is specialized in ophthalmology at the University of London and Royal Free University Hospital (four years) and completed his fellowship (two years) at Moorfields Eye Hospital London.
He was Post doc cornea consultant at the Eye Clinic of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for 9 years and Scientific Director of the Eye Department at the Interbalkan Medical Centre of Northern Greece (7 years). He was a cofounder of IRIS Laser center at Larissa and Tirana, and co-owner of Protypo Eye center. Currenlty is a cofounder and appointed director of Ophthalmica Eye Institute, the first multidisciplinary eye hospital in Thessaloniki Greece.

Professor Merab Dvali is the ophthalmologist with the half-century of clinical, scientific and teaching experience. He has been the Chairman of the Ophthalmology Department at the Tbilisi State Medical University for almost 20 years and in 2022 he was granted with the honorary title of the Emeritus Professor. The development of eye microsurgery in Georgia is associated with his name and in 2002 he was awarded with the prize from the Georgian Government to highlight his significant scientific works in the fields of science and technology.
